Why it can be $10: hosting a site like this genuinely costs very little. The price reflects what it costs us to run, not what we could get away with charging.
Prices in NZD. Kitset is not registered for GST, so no GST is charged and $10 is the whole amount. Domain costs not included - you bring your own. No lock-in contracts. Cancel any time and take your site with you.

We publish the comparison because we're happy for you to check it. Every line below is a competitor's own advertised "from" price.
You can find cheaper. Hostinger starts near $4 if you prepay years ahead and accept the renewal price, and Webador is free if you are happy with their ads on your site. We are comparing like for like: no ads, your own domain, month to month, and a New Zealander who answers when you email. Competitor prices are their publicly advertised entry-level "from" prices as at August 2026, in NZD. *Wix bills in US dollars; NZD shown is approximate and moves with the exchange rate. Prices change - check their sites, then check ours.
Two things the big ones get wrong
Your work saves itself
Squarespace has no autosave - close the tab and the last while is gone.
Kitset saves as you type, undoes with Ctrl+Z, and keeps every version
you have published so you can put one back.
You only build it once
Wix and Squarespace make you lay out the phone version separately, and
the two drift apart. Every Kitset kit is built to fit a phone from the
start, so there is one site and it is right on both.
